This is me, Laura! Welcome to my humble office.
Born in Oviedo, I have been passionate about languages since I was a child and I enjoyed translating everything I could lay my hands on, I even invented my own languages! For this reason, when I finished high school, I decided to pursue my vocation and move to Vitoria-Gasteiz to study for a Translation and Interpreting degree. Once I finished, I decided to continue my education by studying for a Master’s Degree in Audiovisual Translation at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona to deepen my knowledge of the specialty that had drawn my attention the most up to that point, along with literary translation.
Now I live in Barcelona and I make my living as a translator, which is what has always made me happy. My native language is Spanish and I have a C2 level of English and an intermediate level of French. I also have a basic knowledge of Russian and Arabic, the languages I studied during my university years. My professional skills include marketing and transcreation; video game, software, app and website localization; translation and proofreading of literary texts, subtitling, translation for dubbing and voice-over, and marketing-oriented transcreation. My experience as a professional linguist, as well as my broad cultural background, allow me to find creative solutions adapted to the function of the source text in any situation, which, together with my perfectionist nature and mastery of my working languages, helps me to always deliver high-quality final texts.
Although I like to give my best in everything I do, I still have some time for my passions: music, cinema, and video games; as well as to collaborate as a volunteer in solidarity projects that aim to help our four-legged friends.
What project can you offer me?
